Blake Morrison in conversation with Niall McMonagle
In Shingle Street (2015) Blake Morrison made some powerful observations on the erosion of our land, lives and values. Set along the Suffolk coast, the poems address a receding world — an eroding landscape, “abashed by the ocean's passion”. In this discussion with Niall McMonagle, Blake will read from Shingle Street, and we'll also hear about his new book, The Executor (out in March 2018).
Though ostensibly a novel, The Executor includes poems in the course of its narrative and ends with a collection called 'Love's Alphabet', a 26-poem sequence exploring eroticism, desire and the way that passion can both enhance and destroy human lives.
