Two years after the death of his wife, theatre star Yusuke Kafuku agrees to direct a production of Uncle Vanya in Hiroshima. With the unexpected help of his new chauffeur Misaki, the experience lets Yusuke finally confront some painful secrets he’d tried to ignore.

 

Adapted from a Haruki Murakami short story, Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s masterfully told drama recently won the 2022 Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
