Jean-Michel Blais is a composer and post-classical pianist from Montreal, Canada. He weaves beauty and technical prowess in stunning piano pieces.

Blais has been a celebrated figure in the postclassical piano world since the release of his critically acclaimed debut album II in 2016, which appeared in the Top 10 best albums in Time Magazine, collected more than 50 million plays worldwide, reached #1 in Billboard’s Classical (Canada) chart 14 times and appeared in the Polaris Music Prize longlist.

He has collaborated with Grammy-nominated electronic producer CFCF earning him glowing reviews from BBC Radio 6 Music and Pitchfork. His sophomore album, Dans ma main (2018), was Polaris shortlisted and won the Libera Award for Best Classical Album.

After signing to Mercury KX, he released aubades (2022) his first album composing for ensemble, with warm tonalities and glistening orchestrations.
