Can't Sit Still

Oh No, George!

by Chris Haughton

George sees something in the kitchen.
It’s cake!
I said I’d be good, George thinks, but I LOVE cake.
What will George do?

Oh No, George! is the delightfully playful tale of a dog who wants to be good but just can’t resist temptation. Adapted from the award-winning picture book by Chris Haughton, this brand new show for children aged 3+ (and their grown ups) uses acrobatics, slapstick comedy, Sign Supported English and live music to bring George’s joyful escapades to life.

Originally commissioned by ARC Stockton and The Civic, Barnsley in 2020, Oh No, George! is brought to life by Can’t Sit Still, a South Gloucestershire based arts organisation that tells stories and starts conversations with the power to change the world.

*Relaxed Performance: Audiences are welcome to wriggle around in their seats and make noise during all of Can't Sit Still's shows. However, in our relaxed performance we will also keep the house lights on during the show, so the theatre won't be as dark as it might be normally. There will be an introduction with the actors, so that you have some idea of what might happen during the show. We will turn down the volume on some of the recorded sound, but please be aware that there is a live drum kit used in the show, which is difficult to turn down! If you are coming to the relaxed show and are sensitive to sound we recommend bringing some ear defenders with you. You will be able to enter the auditorium early if you would like to take some time to adjust to the space, and during the show you will be able to leave whenever you need, and come back again when you're ready. There will be an allocated space upstairs where audience members can move around freely whilst watching the show at the same time. If you can think of any other adjustments that we could make that would help you enjoy the show, please get in touch! We will do our best to accommodate them.
