Quo Vadis, Aida

Bosnia, July 1995. Former schoolteacher Aida now works as a translator for the UN in the small town of Srebrenica. When Serbian forces advance on the town, thousands of citizens, fearing for their lives, arrive at the UN “safe zone” seeking protection. As the situation develops rapidly and the danger escalates, Aida soon realises how powerless the UN actually is and so must act to save her own family.

Using documentary style camera-work and skillful editing, the story quickly immerses its viewers as they directly experience the unfolding events through the eyes of Aida (an astonishing performance from Jasna Ðuričić). This is moving, compelling and urgent cinema, and as a record of recent European history should be seen by everyone.
