World of Wonder: Young Writers Workshop with Sarah Webb

As part of Lasta 2021

This online workshop, themed around nature and creativity, is chock full of writing games and activities perfect for all budding writers and young creatives aged 8yrs+.
Sarah Webb is an award-winning children’s writer. Her books include Blazing a Trail: Irish Women who Changed the World (illustrated by Lauren O’Neill) and A Sailor Went to Sea, Sea, Sea: Favourite Rhymes from an Irish Childhood (illustrated by Steve McCarthy), both winners of Irish Book Awards.
Sarah runs creative writing clubs for children and teens, reviews children’s books for the Irish Independent and programmes children’s and family events for book festivals and MoLI (Museum of Literature Ireland). She is passionate about bringing children and books together and was awarded the Children’s Books Ireland Award for Outstanding Contribution to Children’s Books in Ireland in 2015.
Her latest books are Animal Crackers: Fun Animal Facts (illustrated by Alan Nolan) and The One with the Waggly Tail: Favourite Rhymes from an Irish Childhood (illustrated by Steve McCarthy). The Little Beekeeper of Henrietta Street will be published in September.

This event is part of Lasta, an exciting programme of events curated by young people from eight NASC Network venues across the country. Running from 11-20 June 2021, Lasta is presented as part of Brightening Air | Coiscéim Coiligh - a nationwide, ten day season of arts experiences brought to you by the Arts Council.

Lasta is based on an original project conceived and delivered by Backstage Theatre, Longford in 2020.
