Aindrias de Staic

By the Light of the Silvery Moon

By The Light of The Silvery Moon is a special afternoon of Irish stories for grown-ups told through words, sounds and music in the bardic style. Aindrias de Staic has a unique style of storytelling; irreverent and bawdy, fast and furious.

There is magic, myth and music as he interacts with the two brilliant musicians percussionist Brian Fleming and harpist Aisling Lyons, who enhance each tale with a live sonic landscape. Their collaboration transforms the tales into an exhilarating and entertaining fusion of story and sound.

Well known as a presenter on TG4, and for his comic turns on Hardy Bucks, and his recent interview on The Tommy Tiernan Show went viral. A true pioneer in reviving Ireland’s Bardic tradition, Aindrias draws inspiration from Raifteirí an File and Brian Merriman, and has honed a contemporary seanachaí style that is firmly rooted in the traditions of the west.

Inspired by his work in folklore, nature and the traditional arts, Aindrias brings us on journeys through bumpy roads and hidden boreens, through scary scenes and magical places - strictly for grown ups!

By The Light of The Silvery Moon is a celebration of Ireland’s living heritage, where ancient voices meet modern ears in a night of wonder and wit.Having lived and performed as a troubadour all over the world Aindrias has settled back to the family farm in North Clare. During Covid he lived in a caravan without electricity, where he spent time in what he calls his ‘Analogue Corner’.

Aindrais’ late father, Eddie Stack was a writer, musician, storyteller and a collector of folklore. By candlelight Aindrias read and listened to his father’s tapes of mythic lore, which he would later weave into a tapestry of vivid characters and captivating stories. He has become a beloved figure across Ireland, an ambassador for the power of storytelling and traditional arts.
