David O’Doherty
Highway to the David Zone
A new opus from the hairy Enya, the Ryanair Bublé, the nine volt battery powered Beethoven. Talking, songs, talking during songs, talking while walking around - it’s got the lot.
Born in Dublin in 1975, O’Doherty is a comedian and former under-14 triple jump bronze medallist. After failed ambitions in cycling and jazz, he tried stand-up in 1998, winning the 1999 So You Think You’re Funny? award. He has created acclaimed shows, toured internationally, written children’s books and radio series, and collaborated with artists like Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement.
His work includes RTÉ’s The Modest Adventures of David O’Doherty, comedy albums, appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4), QI and Live At The Apollo (BBC), and co-hosting the What Did You Do Yesterday? podcast. He continues writing, performing, and cycling.
