Iarla Ó Lionáird with Cormac McCarthy & special guest Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh

Promising to be a very memorable and unique concert, this is an inspired pairing of twice Grammy nominated vocalist Iarla Ó Lionáird with renowned pianist/composer Cormac McCarthy with special guest (and bandmate from The Gloaming), acclaimed fiddle maestro Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh.

Iarla Ó Lionáird is a singular voice in Irish music, richly rooted in the sean-nós tradition yet ceaselessly innovative. A native of Cúil Aodha in West Cork, Iarla’s unmistakable vocal style has captivated audiences worldwide, from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House. His collaborations span genres and generations, from composers like Donnacha Dennehy and David Lang to artists like Peter Gabriel and Sinead O’Connor. Best known as the voice of The Gloaming, Iarla's sound is both ancient and timeless - resonant, haunting, and utterly arresting.

Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh plays a 10-string hardanger d’amore, crafting a sound world that blurs the line between tradition and the avant-garde. Renowned for his solo work and collaborations with The Gloaming, This is How We Fly, and numerous duos, his music is at once meditative and wild. From Carnegie Hall to the Royal Albert Hall, his performances have earned him praise as “the missing link between Martin Hayes and Purple Haze” (Irish Independent).

Cormac McCarthy is a pianist, composer, and conductor whose music defies easy categorisation. Equally at home in jazz, classical, and traditional forms, he has worked with an eclectic list of artists including Martin Hayes, Andrea Corr, and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

This exciting, moving and dramatic new ensemble comes together to explore Iarla’s rich and varied repertoire through their compelling transcendent interpretations.
