December at Pavilion Theatre: the most wonderful time of the year!
The big day is almost upon us and there’s plenty of room at the inn for our unmissable Christmas lineup including live music, storytelling, wintry film favourites and a very special bear hunt!

Pavilion Theatre Gift Vouchers allow you to give that special someone the gift of a great night out no matter what they’re into! They make perfect stocking-fillers for lovers of music, theatre, comedy, cinema, dance and much more besides.
With a Gift Voucher, they’ll have their pick of our amazing selection of great entertainment coming up in 2019; Ross O’Carroll-Kelly, Declan O’Rourke, Irish National Opera, Deirdre O’Kane, Druid Theatre Company and Irish music legends like Andy Irvine and Dónal Lunny to name just a few. You can even use them against a Monday Night Cinema Season Ticket!
Available at a price to suit any budget, Gift Vouchers can be purchased directly from our Box Office, giving us a buzz on (01) 231 2929 (postage available before Thu 20 Dec) or you can print you own out by booking online.

Direct from the West End, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt – Live on Stage (Wed 19 – Sun 30 Dec) is the smash hit musical adaptation of Michael Rosen’s beloved picture book. Don’t miss this spectacular adventure with live music, rhymes, rhythms and lots of interactive fun for ages three and up. Prospective hunters take note: tickets for this family Christmas treat are selling very fast indeed!

After her great success last Christmas, celebrated folk singer Cara Dillon (Sat 1 Dec) returns to Pavilion Theatre with Upon a Winter’s Night: seasonal songs both ancient and modern to lift spirits and provide refuge from the hustle and bustle.
Eimear Quinn (Sat 8 Dec) is well-known for her angelic, ethereal voice which pairs beautifully with the tasteful selection of Christmas carols she has prepared for this special festive concert. Accompanied by guitar and string quartet, this is sure to be an evening to savour.

With an all-star cast including actors Owen Roe, Michele Forbes, Cathy Belton and Phelim Drew alongside musicians Ciara Sidine, Conor Brady and Ellen Cranitch, A Night Before Christmas (Fri 21 Dec) is an evening of story and song in the old Irish tradition.

It just wouldn’t be Christmas without The Nutcracker (Thu 16 Dec, 3pm & 7.30pm). These encore screenings of an all-new Royal Ballet production filmed at London’s Royal Opera House promise to bring Tchaikovsky’s iconic ballet to life as never before.

We’ve got a great selection of festive favourites old and new on our big screen this month, including The Man Who Invented Christmas (Thu 20 Dec), Elf (Sat 22 Dec), It’s a Wonderful Life (Sat 22 Dec) and Home Alone (Sun 23 Dec).
Our Autumn/Winter season of Monday Night Cinema also comes to a close with Palestinian family drama Wajib (Mon 3 Dec), contemporary western The Rider (Mon 10 Dec) and Glenn Close’s Oscar-tipped The Wife (Mon 17 & Wed 19 Dec).
