Artist Support

Pavilion Theatre is committed to supporting artists in a variety of different ways.

Awards

Pavilion Theatre has two types of annual awards selected from open calls. We recommend keeping an eye on our social media to see when the callouts are posted.

Patron Donation Award

First launched in 2015, Pavilion Patron Donation Award is a performance-based award to co-commission and co-produce ambitious main stage works by established artists and organisations, made possible by the generous contributions of Pavilion Theatre’s loyal patrons. The award is for both new work and revivals. We welcome unique offerings, collaborations and, ultimately, great art to engage with a wide audience. This could also include festival proposals, interdisciplinary projects or artists moving into different artforms. Awards are worth up to €30,000 each, with applications opening in the autumn.

Pavilion Pulse Award

First launched in July 2025, Pavilion Pulse Award supports daring ideas and champions work that has its finger on the pulse of today. There are two strands: Strand One: Foundation (€1,500 per award) which is for work at the beginning of creation and Strand Two: Acceleration (up to €5,000 per award) for work that can be structured and rehearsed.

In the first year, there were 30 awardees, working in theatre, music, dance, live podcasting, family and multidisciplinary work, based across all four provinces. With the kind support of the Arts Council, a total of €70,000 in funding was used to develop ambitious new projects which we have been delighted to support.
